After learning I have a rare illness that will eventually cost me my mobility, I decided I would work on making lasting memories with my wife and children. A year and a half after that, we were hit by a drunk driver on our way home from the pool. My two sons and two of our neighbors’ kids had been at the local community college for community pool night. That night I lost my 7-year-old son, Matthew, and our neighbor’s 14-year-old son, Ricky.

Although it took me a couple of years to recover, I have dedicated my life to addressing the issue of drunk driving prevention. I set up a website to help educate people and a Facebook page to unite them. I have worked with lawmakers to get stronger DWI legislation.
